Mendoza: 12-KM River Rafting Tour in the Andes

1.12-KM River Rafting Tour in the Andes

★★★★★★★★★★3.9 · 94 reviews · 2 - 7 hours · from $35Our pick

Spend about an hour rafting the Mendoza River on level 3 and 4 rapids, with an English or Spanish-speaking instructor and mountain views all around. The full outing can take 2 to 7 hours because of transport and waiting time. Guide Juanpi has earned warm praise, though water levels can make the ride gentler than expected.

“Activity was thrilling for a beginner. The guide was clear, informative, friendly and lots of fun. However they made a mistake with our booking and had us down for another day so we were not picked up in the morning. They did send an Uber who drove like a maniac but got us to our destination on time. The wait time after the activity to go back to our accommodation was a little too long however we filled the time nicely by having lunch at a beautiful hotel next door and being in nature was lovely and meeting other travellers was pleasant.”

Carry a 6-kilogram packraft through Tierra del Fuego forest and peat bogs, then inflate it at Mariposa Lagoon for a guided hour on the Olivia River. TAUN USHUAIA limits the outing to seven people, with rowing instruction, a riverside lunch stop, and a strong leave-no-trace focus.

“A fun tour in a beautiful location. We unfortunately had really strong winds, so it made the low intensity activity into a very difficult one. Still enjoyable, but a physical adventure.”

“Het raften was geweldig. Enorm aardige en bekwame gidsen. Het ziplinen was enigszins saai. 3 korte stukjes over de rivier. Je moet daarna ook zo’n 3 uur wachten totdat de rest klaar is met abseilen voordat de bus terug naar Mendoza vertrekt maar je zit dan wel op een mooie plek aan het meer”

“One of the highlights of our 21 day Chile/Patagonia/Argentina vacation. The tour group was outstanding including pick up and drop off from hotel, to their home base and making it feel comfortable, to the safety factor they followed for the rafting adventure, having plenty of gear wet suits, helmets, boots, etc to choose from. Although we did not take advantage of it - hiking and zip line was also available. After our raft adventure we enjoyed a very nice lunch cost extra before leaving. Very good food and a nice variety to choose from. I am 72 years old and did it after breaking 5 ribs to months earlier from…”
